CEDEJ aims to welcome researchers and students of various nationalities, to offer them access to its documentary resources, to offer research seminars and conferences, and to publish research work, particularly in the Egypt Sudan Worlds Arabes (ESMA), formerly Egypt World Arabe , accessible online at cairn.info and openedition.org . The CEDEJ has published nearly 300 works since its creation. The center also has a large documentary collection: a library of more than 36,000 volumes with an online catalog; statistical data; a map library of Egypt; press kits from 1976 to the present day, etc.
